My Favourite Cleanser #5 - Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

TGIF!!! I can't believe its the last day of the series already.. time flies when you're having fun and all that!

My final favourite cleanser is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I know this is another cleanser that has been raved about so much.. but it is well deserved!

Before I tried this, I thought it was going to be a foam texture (no idea why!).. but it's not.Its quite a thick cream, almost like a face mask. It feels so nice to massage it into the skin and it takes the makeup off so easily. I've tried products which are similar in the past, and they make my skin feel really tight and dry - but this doesn't at all. It feels so gentle and soft.. I love it a lot. It is completely free of mineral oils, which are not good for acne-prone (or any skin for that matter)... it has ingredients such as cocoa butter and eucalyptus to cleanse and soothe the skin!

I have read previous reviews, and when I first tried it, I was expecting the smell to be really strong, but it isn't at all. Its quite a mentholly, herbally smell - but really subtle. I can't decide if I prefer this smell, or the Emma Hardie one - I think i depends on what you're looking for. The Emma Hardie one definitely smells more luxurious, but this is more of a 'does what it says on the tin' type product!

If you're struggling to find a cleanser that works for you - this one is definitely worth a try. I wouldn't say its affordable, but the price really isn't bad at all - It's 100% worth the price!

My Favourite Cleanser #4 - Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water

I feel like every person and their mother has tried this product. It is a dupe for the Bioderma cleansing water, which was raved about SO much a few years ago. Bioderma isn't easily available in the UK (i think you can get it in Boots now but you never used to!) - so everyone started using this instead, myself included.

This is soooo good. I use this if i'm feeling lazy and cant be bothered to cleanse my face properly, and is also amazing at getting rid of all traces of eye makeup. Its really gentle and you don't need to scrub at your face or eyes to get the makeup off, just a quick swipe and its all gone!

This is definitely on the cheaper side of the cleansers I love - you can get a massive bottle which will last you ages for about £4 - can't really complain can ya!? It doesn't have any scent - and literally looks and feels like water. The one I use is just the normal one for sensitive skin, but they do so many types e.g for combination skin, or just for eyes.. it definitely worth a try.

I'm pretty sure the majority of you will have already tried this out, but if you haven't... you really should!!

Fri-yay tomorrow.. whaooo!

My Favourite Cleanser #3 - Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

Happy Wednesday!!

Today I am reviewing the Emma Hardie cleansing balm. This is seriously amazing stuff!!! I started off with the mini 50ml size, and have since invested in the 200ml super size.. thats how good it is!! Its definitely not a budget product, but it is soooo worth it!

I think the name sums it up - it is like a lib balm.. but for your face!! I get a tiny bit, swirl it around in my hands to warm it up and then massage it into my face. It effortlessly lifts my makeup off and makes my skin feel SO soft. Its a really rich formula, and did think it would be too much for my skin, but it isn't at all, it keeps my spots at bay and keeps my skin hydrated.

I'm not the biggest fan of the smell, its quite an intense herbal smell (i'm really bad at describing scents so thats the best I can do!!). It does smell like something you'd find in a spa, and although its not my favourite smell, I do find it relaxing. I think its one of those products where you have to smell it for yourself and make your own mind up.

It also comes with the best muslin cloth I have ever used!! Its like a fleecy fabric on one side, and a muslin material on the other - its so soft and takes away the product so well. I previously used muslin cloths from Tesco, and also the ones which come with the Liz Earle Cleanse and Finish - but this wins hands down.

I know its really expensive, but even the 50ml pot lasted me around 4 months - so it's actually not that bad when you think how long its lasts. It just feels so luxurious when you use it, and the packaging is so gorgeous (probably not the best if you travel a lot, but nice all the same!).

This is the cleanser I am currently loving and religiously using! My skin has never felt brighter and fresher. Love love love!

My Favourite Cleanser #2 - Coconut Oil

Hello again, time for another cleanser review!! Now I know this isn't technically a cleanser.. but I use it as a cleanser and it does a super job! I think I may have done a previous blog post about the many uses of coconut oil - if i have I will link that here.
One of these uses, is a cleanser! I read loads of reviews saying how good it was as a hair mask, and a cleanser - bit I was a bit sceptical as the thought of putting oil on my already spotty skin didn't fill me with much joy... but it is seriously good stuff! Again, it takes make up off so well (as well as eye makeup which is always a winner). I really thought it would make my spots worse, but it actually helped clear them up. It also makes my skin feel soooo baby soft and clean. It does make my skin have a slightly oily feel, but it also feels hydrated and moisterised. I probably wouldnt reccomend this if you already struggle with oily skin, but for those of you who need a little extra moisture, this would be perfect.

It's a really inexpensive product, especially when you think how many uses it has - and similar to the Katherine Daniels cleanser - a little goes a long way.

The one I use the Vita Coco Coconut oil - but i'm guessing coconut is coconut oil, so they all do the same job!

Until tomorrow, LLB x

My Favourite Cleanser #1 - Katherine Daniels Essential Cleansing Milk

I thought I would do a series of posts this week reviewing my all time fave cleansers. I have had problem skin all throughout my teenage years, and now I have finally got over my bad skin stage, I thought i'd share the products I used to try and combat that. All the products I am reviewing, I use both to remove my makeup and to cleanse my skin.

To start this week long series, my first favourite cleanser is the Katherine Daniels Essential Cleaning Milk. I have got through many a salon size bottle of this product!! I used this when my skin was at its worst, and it helped it SO much! It think the thing that I love most about this product is how gentle it is. My makeup just glides off, and makes my skin feel so soft and fresh.

It's not thick and greasy at all - it's quite a runny consistency and a little goes a long way. I think a lot of products on the high street are either too harsh and try to do too many things, or too gentle and do nothing!! This is the perfect in-between.

I have used this cleanser with the toner from the same collection - and they work amazingly together - so would definitely recommend this too.

I haven't seen anyone write a review about this product, I know its used a lot in salons, but is less well known in the internet world.. I think it deserves SO much more hype.. its so amazing!

First cleanser review DONE!! See you tomorrow.. it's a good'un!

You can buy the cleanser here , buy the cleanser and toner due here - and also find out more about the Katherine Daniels products here - www.katherinedanielscosmetics.com

Makeup Inspiration | Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid Met Gala

Gigi is the ultimate 'it' girl at the moment - she is a natural beauty and great fashion sense. Having it recently been the met gala, I have been trawling through endless pictures, and although I wasn't the biggest fan of her makeup look this year (sorry!) - I did see a picture of her from last years gala and thought she looked amazing!

I am always so inspired by her make up looks, so i thought i'd share my ideas on how to achieve a naturally beautiful look.

First up is the YSL Touche Eclat Foundation. This foundation is a light to medium coverage, it gives your skin a beautiful glow and is super natural looking. I used to use this foundation religiously, but haven't used it for AGES!! Its the perfect foundation for the summer if you need that extra bit of coverage - I would also team it with the YSL Touche Eclat highlighter. Gigi doesn't heavily contour, she just subtly highlights the high points of her face. This product is perfect for this as it reflects the light and blends into the skin seamlessly so looks super natural.

On the eyes I would use MACs Woodwinked. I know this doesn't suit everyones skin tone - definitely better for those of you who have blue eyes, as it really makes this colour pop, and paler skin. Gigi has perfected the sultry but fresh look - I think this eyeshadow is perfect for that. Not too over the top but it just adds something extra to the look.

Secondly on the eyes, I would use the Benefit Push up Liner - its super black and makes it really easy to get a nice smooth line!! To finish the eyes off, I would use the Eyelure Individual Lashes. Again, they are perfect for adding volume to the lashes but still looking really natural! I also think they're so much easier to apply than a strip lash, so you cant really go wrong!

For the brows I would use the Anastasia Brow Whiz. I swear by this - I use it on a daily basis and I absolutely love it!! I don't have a lot of time to get ready on the mornings, and this just makes it super easy and quick to do my brows. Gigis eyebrows are perfectly imperfect - just filled in slightly to give her face some shape. This product doesn't add to much heavy colour - just enough for some added definition.

Finally is the lips! Gigi has a pretty pink glossy pout - so its really easy to achieve! The Nars lipgloss in 'Orgasm' is perfect for this. It has gold reflexes in so reflects the gold on the eyes really well.

The Body Shop Hemp Review

So as you're probably aware.. I'm always on the hunt for a product that will actually help my dry skin. I've always loved body shop products, but hadn't used any in years!! I used to be OBSESSED with the body butter in the smell 'dreams unlimited' (i think!?).. it smelt absolutely amazing and did fab things for my skin. But I think it was a limited edition collection so once they stopped selling it, I was gutted!! Since then, I have been on the hunt for something I have loved equally as much, and until now I haven't been able to find it!!

Don't ask me why I didn't just try another body shop body butter in a different smell all those years ago.. because I have no idea! But i just recently had an epiphany and decided to purchase a body butter but in a different smell.

I went onto the body shop website and they seriously have all the smells you could ever wish for!! As I was looking through all the selections - I saw once which had a crazy amount of good reviews and decided to give it a go.
The one I picked was the 'hemp' body butter. I know it doesn't sound particularly glamorous, and I didn't even know what hemp was until I discovered this product - but it is so amazing for dry skin!! It hasn't got a very strong smell - it isn't like the other body butter that I got from body shop because that literally made me sell like i'd bathed in perfume!! I'm rubbish at describing smells.. but its quite an earthy herbal smell - it's nicer than i'm making it sound trust me!! The cream itself is really thick and creamy, it isn't greasy at all and juts makes your skin feel hydrated instantly!

While trawling the website, I found some other hemp products which all had as amazing reviews so I decided to add them to my bag too.

Click for enlarged view
The first one was the hemp lip balm. Smells lovely, and makes my lips feel so amazing, plump and hydrating.. basically exactly what I want a lip balm to do!!

The second one was a hand cream. I don't really get particularly dry hands to be honest - but I thought an extra bit of hydration can't hurt and the packaging is delightful!! And yes, this is as amazing as the reviews suggest too! A little goes a long way - and I have my mum hooked too so i'll be purchasing another tube for her too.
