Autumn Edit // Topshop

Hi everyone,

With us being at the very cusp of yet another weather change (Yes we are British, the weather is never far from our minds), we thought it might be a good idea to start preparing ourselves for the arrival of Autumn. There is some great stuff out on the high street, so great in fact that we couldn't fit it into one post. Therefore, we're proposing an Autumn Edit (AE hereafter) every day this week, focussing on the best bits of a different one of our fave stores. So in summary, thats one store per day, looking at our favourite picks, just to clarify- incase we lost you slightly! We thought we'd kick off with a corker, so we're starting Monday off with our Topshop loves. Hope you enjoy...

Topshop Cape - £38
First up is this cape. We love this for a number of reasons. The colour scheme is obviously a hit with us, you may remember that we have a slight thing for anything grey or monochrome, so this fits the bill nicely. We're also a really big fan of the Zig-Zag print, because it's an easy way to incorporate some '70s prints (this A/W is ALL about the '70s, you might have noticed!) into your wardrobe without straying into the scary bold colours and prints. Obviously, its big and cosy and perfect for layering the colder the weather turns. The buckle detail is an added bonus because it will presumably stop the cape from sliding off your shoulders. Modern take on Little Red Riding-hood anyone?!
Topshop Cape - £85
Still on outerwear, we're also digging this check cape. It's slightly more heavy duty than the one above, and the print just screams Christmas church service with the Queen to us! Sorry too early for the C word?
Topshop Hybrid Shirt/Jumper - £42
Moving on, we're obsessed with this new phenomenon of a 'hybrid' t shirt. Because it's like a shirt and a jumper in one? Fancy. On a serious note, it's actually very handy as you don't have to style yourself, it's all there done for you. It's perfect for the transitional weather too.
Topshop Jumper - £38
We get so excited about this jumper every time we lay our eyes on it. It does fit the colour scheme we discussed earlier, but the dip-dye effect adds a super cool, grungy feel to stop it being just another grey jumper. We loved the ribbed texture and the oversized bagginess of it, perfect for cosying in or a nice country walk (if that's more your bag?)
Topshop Dress - £85

This dress is just, BEAUTIFUL. The colour is going to be flattering on any skin tone, and is a rich colour for A/W without wearing black all the time. It gets bonus points for being good to go either with or without tights depending on the weather that day. The intricate lace is feminine but not too over the top, and overall we think it's a great dress for multiple occasions.

Topshop Jeans - £42

We all love Topshop jeans. Girls everywhere live and breathe in them, to the point where they've almost become a modern classic (even Kate Middleton has been known to rock a pair). So imagine our delight when we see classic black Jamies, but in CORD. Super cool, and a perfect nod to that reoccuring '70s vibe. The colour makes them pretty much wearable with anything, and they're a perfect autumn staple for those chilly days where only jeans will do.
Topshop Loafers - £52

Onto footwear, these loafers are just basically heaven. They have a tonne of assets; including the chunky soles which will make them comfy and durable, as well as incorporating the classic loafer design. The typically *buzzword alert* '70s colour of sludgy brown is repugnant and edgy. Winner winner.
Topshop Brogues - £52

Staying with footwear, these classic brogues are great for unpredictable weather and can be paired with pretty much anything. Let's face it, they are the type of shoe that most mums own and we've all looked at in utter horror and sheer dismay- our 12-year-old selves vowing we would never make the same silly mistakes. However, worn the right way they're pretty awesome. And let's face it, mums normally know best, right?

So that concludes Day 1's Autumn Edit curtesy of Topshop. We hope you love our picks, and feel free to comment down below with your favourites!

Until tomorrow,
LLB x
