Highlands Soap Co.

Hello fellow blogees,

And so we meet again! This time, I'm hoping to transform your lives in some small part. Recently, I was lucky enough to receive a Hand and Body Lotion from the 'Highland Soap Co' as a gift. In my time, I have received many smellies as gifts before (as I'm sure you all have too), and I was ready to abandon this product to the back shelf in my bathroom; along with many of (what I thought was) the same type gone before. However, purely out of curiousity, I actually tried this one. And I have to say, I was pleasently surprised. The particular type I received was 'Scottish Honeysuckle', and for starters, it smells AMAZING. It's deeply moisturising, even for my elephant rough skin. It smooths and replenishes the skin with long lasting effects. I know I've only owned this product for under a month, however I've been applying it twice a day (you may need to apply once a day, it's just I have unusually dry skin!) and I've really noticed results. The softeness is hard to beat, even if you do look a tad crazy stroking your own hand. Arguably the best thing about these products is they are all hand made from organic products. So you know it's  all good stuff. What could be better than that?

Despite the company being based in Scotland, they have a great website where all the variations of the products are available for delivery (I'll link below).

So go on, have I twisted your arm? I seriously recommend these products, I think you'll be just as surprised as me at how fast you see/feel a change.

Until we meet again...

Favourite MAC Autumn Lipsticks

Dear Fellow Make Up Enthusiasts,

As Autumn approaches, we look for the comfort of our big woolly jumpers and gigantic slipper socks,  and naturally our make up look will begin to change too. One thing that I think can update any look for Autumn is a faithful lippy. For deeper, richer colours, I have particularly loved using the ever growing, super chic franchise MAC: in the shades 'Rebel' and 'Diva'.

MAC Diva (L), MAC Rebel (R)

When it comes to being Rebellious, I don't claim to know much. However the lipstick is a totally different ball game. MAC Rebel is a satin finish, meaning it gives a glossier, all over great coverage. It's the lighter of the two shades aforementioned, but to still creates great impact on any lips. If you're going for a punk edge, Rebel will do the job nicely. It's perfect for a day to night, work to Christmas do (sorry to mention the C word in September, but you know it's coming!), Autumn staple. Just throw in some tartan and tinsel, and you're onto a winner.

Moving swiftly into Diva. Wearing this lipstick, you are a diva who will be creating some fever. My personal favourite out of the two shades, it's again another high quality product from MAC. Both will see a good 3-4 hour wear without reapplying. What I particularly enjoy about Diva is it is a matte finish, so you get a bold, sharper, fuller look to your already luscious lips. However just because it's matte, don't expect anything less in the moisturising department, oh no. Diva will leave your lips blissfully conditioned and chap free.

So the sheer gloss of Rebel's punky vibe, or the pungent cling of Diva's red wine shade? It's a tough one, but the choice is yours. I certainly love them both, and know they will undoubtedly see me (and hopefully you!) through all the exciting festivities that Autumn brings.

Until next time my friends...
